Japanese officials approve Raisbeck’s King Air 200 EPIC system

March 12, 2014, Seattle, Wa. - Raisbeck Engineering's King Air 200-series EPIC Performance System has been certified by the Japanese Civil Aviation Board (JCAB). The STC for Raisbeck's EPIC Package (consisting of Dual Aft Body Strakes, Enhanced Performance Leading Edges, Quiet Turbofan Propellers and Ram Air Recovery System) allows full operational use of the increased field performance and allowable takeoff gross weight from restricted fields.

The first King Air 200 in Japan to utilize the Raisbeck EPIC Performance Package is BB-367, operated by Diamond Air Service. The aircraft will be used for aerial photography, which requires the stable platform and long flight endurance provided by the EPIC upgrade.

Leading the certification effort on behalf of Raisbeck Engineering was Vice President of Customer Support, Bill Lally, who said, “The process for getting our Japanese STC was a smooth one, with great cooperation from JCAB.” Lally also worked very closely with the customer, Diamond Air Service, Inc., about whom he commented, “It's all about building a relationship and providing our customers with what they need.”
