Fixed Wing Pilot

Date Posted: September 28, 2018 - Date Ends: November 05, 2018

The RCMP Air Services Branch is currently seeking pilot candidates to be included in an inventory for future vacancies. Our current fleet consists of a variety of turboprop aircraft including Pilatus PC-12, Cessna Caravan, Quest Kodiak and Twin Otter. Successful candidates will be compensated at between $87,911.00 and $100,099.00 per annum plus benefits.

As an RCMP Pilot you will be responsible for providing support for a variety of airborne law enforcement operational activities, such as, but not limited to: flying aircraft for reconnaissance/surveillance, integrated cross-border law enforcement operations, tracking criminals, rescuing and evacuating injured persons. Other duties include assisting with prisoner and deportation escorts, detention of prisoners before or after flights, and transportation of exhibits and other hazardous materials in accordance with our Equivalency Certificate

Due to a change in the pilot occupational group, all pilots must complete the Air Services Special Constable 8 week training program to be held at Depot Division in Regina. Pilot positions will be filled in the fall of 2019.

Special Requirements ask that the candidates are able and willing to relocate anywhere in Canada; spend long hours in travel status; and, as Pilot in Command, accept all responsibility for decisions respecting the safety of aircraft and passengers in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Pilot 'essential qualifications' include:

A valid Canadian Airline Transport Pilot's License (ATPL) or a Commercial Pilot's license;

Group 1 or 3 Instrument Flight Rating;

An unrestricted Category I Transport Canada medical validation certificate;

A minimum of 3000 hours of Pilot-in-Command flight time.
