Quality Assurance Technologist

Responsibilities :
Focus on quality activities to assure compliance with business requirements and continuously improve Diamond's product quality and system processes performance Validate the manufacturing process, the product and control plans (routers, FAI, assembly data sheets, etc.), to the most current Diamond and industry specifications Verification of the final product quality and build documentation Preparation and approval of documents involved in the certification and release of products for delivery to customers Initiate, investigate and participate in corrective and preventative action to address product, process and system non-conformances Support the quality system, statistical tools application and special processes Interface with designers and suppliers to obtain necessary data to ensure the products meet the quality requirements Evaluate and amend sub-processes, procedures and work instructions Plan and carry out internal product, process and supplier Quality Audits and participate in regulatory authority or third party audits to ensure adherence to and effectiveness of Diamond's processes Act as a liaison with suppliers on production issues Validate the quality clauses applicable to supplier contracts Review contract documentation for quality requirements and prepare quality plans as required Perform risk assessments General support for production, in-service issues and marketing including support for new equipment support for proposals, etc. Provide assistance to the Manager on projects planning, budget etc. Perform all work in accordance with health and safety policies Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements :
Post Secondary training in Aerospace, Mechanical or Quality Technology or Material Science (or equivalent) 5 years combined experience in Quality Assurance and Composites Structural Assemblies Manufacturing Processes Thorough knowledge of industry Quality System and Processes Management requirements and associated quality procedures and techniques Proficient in developing plans both independent and system integrated Proficient in interpreting drawings, internal and regulatory specification requirements Basic understanding of MRP and ERP system tools Basic understanding of 5S, Kaizen, Kanban and Six Sigma practices Ability to produce clear and comprehensive written procedures and reports Proficient in the use of MS Office, Visio, MS Project, databases and Internet along with the ability to learn other application software packages Very good communication skills Proactive thinker and creative Ability to work under minimal supervision Team work skills and a positive attitude
