Legislative committee wants Mazza back on stand: Ornge

July 27, 2012, Toronto - The legislative committee looking into Ontario's troubled air ambulance service wants to put former Ornge CEO Chris Mazza back in the hot seat.

Conservative MPP Frank Klees says Mazza's previous testimony raised more questions than it answered and the committee wants to learn more from him.

For example, says Klees, the committee wants to know where and money went and says Mazza, as CEO, surely must know.

The OPP are conducting a criminal investigation into financial irregularities at Ornge, including a 6.7-million-dollar deal with an Italian helicopter manufacturer.

Mazza had set up a complex web of Ornge spinoff companies that the government has since shut down.

The committee meets for three days beginning next Tuesday.

Health Minister Deb Matthews is also being recalled to face more questions, and is expected to appear on Tuesday.
