July 22, 2008, St. Jean Sur, QC,  – On July 27, as part of the 100th anniversary of the Plains of Abraham and the 400th anniversary of Quebec City, the Air Cadets will join the National Battlefields Commission in commemorating the historic flight of renowned aviator Charles Lindbergh, who landed on the Plains of Abraham on April 28, 1928.

In honour of this event, Charles Lindbergh's grandson, Erik Lindbergh- who is a commercial pilot in the United States, a flight instructor, the director of the Lindbergh Foundation and a member of various other philanthropic organizations- will land by helicopter at the same location where his grandfather touched down 80 years earlier. Erik Lindbergh's landing is expected to take place at 10:30 AM on the sports field.

Over 300 Air Cadets participating in a camp at Bagotville (in the Saguenay) will be there to welcome Mr. Lindbergh, as will André Juneau, the chair of the National Battlefields Commission and Marc Lacroix, the chair of the Air Cadet League. A plaque honouring Charles Lindbergh's landing in 1928 and the 2008 commemorative activities will also be unveiled.

Members of the media and the public are invited to attend this historic
event, which will conclude with a musical performance by the Eastern Region
Cadet Band.
