The simulator is configured as a Cessna Citation CJ1+ and represents the sixth unit acquired by the German pilot school in the past three years. Like the five other FSTD's, it will be used to train Lufthansa's cadet pilots for the initial phase of their curriculum. The unit will be ready for training in December 2011 and will be evaluated by the German aviation authorities, LBA, to obtain dual qualification JAR FSTD A FNPT II MCC and FNPT II.

"We are thrilled and honored to partner again with Lufthansa Flight Training for the supply of CJ1+ pilot training equipment; we have been serving LFT for a few years now and this repeat order proves once again that our engineering teams' expertise and flight simulators measure up to the expectations of organizations with the most stringent requirements of reliability and fidelity" said Mechtronix Systems' President Hervé. "We are proud to be a partner of choice for an organization like LFT recognized world-wide for being a leading professional pilot training center; our ongoing business relationship with LFT is of great value to us and we trust this will continue in the future."

The Cessna CJ1+ FSTD provides exceptional visual fidelity through a high standard RSI Image Generator and a 220*40° wide field of view and it comes with a suite of specific airport database for more realism during training sessions. Featuring Collins Proline 21 suite, the cost-effective platform is also equipped with advanced avionics such as EGPWS and weather radar, enabling LFT's pilot students to benefit from state-of-the-art technology for the initial part of their training curriculum.
