Manitoba Aviation Council sets conference, career-fair dates

January 28, 2020  By Wings Staff

The annual Manitoba Aviation Career Fair & Conference, organized by Manitoba Aviation Council, is scheduled to take place from April 21 to 23, 2020, at the Holiday Inn Express Polo Park. The three-day gathering will begin with a career fair on April 21, running between 11 am to 7 pm – with free entrance.

Manitoba Aviation Council (MAC) explains representatives from more than 50 companies and organizations will be present to recruit for professions such as pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, air traffic controllers, engineers, flight attendants, dispatchers and ground crew. Information on training and career pathway opportunities will be available.

MAC points to a 2017 report by training company CAE forecasting the need for 255,000 new pilots over the next 10 years to meet global demand. The Canadian Council for Aviation and Aerospace, according to MAC, estimates 55,000 new workers will be required by 2025 to meet the needs of air transportation and its support activities, as well as aerospace manufacturing.

After the career fair, a two-day conference on April 22 and 23 will be aimed at air operators, regulators, government, airports, suppliers and vendors, including a range of industry speakers.

MAC, whose members include air carriers, airports, approved maintenance organizations, general aviation and non-profit aviation organizations, provided the following sample of companies committed to attend the Manitoba Aviation Career Fair & Conference:
