“Mitchinson Flight Centre is excited to enter into this partnership with Air Georgian. We believe the SOAR program is keenly needed in the industry and allows pilots to pursue a clear pathway for their career,” said Dan Glass, President of Mitchinson Flight Centre. “This is an amazing opportunity for our instructors,” added Reed Willison, Chief Flight Instructor. “We look forward to our instructors joining SOAR and expanding their horizons.”

About the SOAR Program
SOAR (Sharing Opportunities for Advancement and Reward) is comprised of three initiatives:

  • Raising awareness of careers in aviation for high school students
  • Working with flight schools and 703/704 operators to recruit pilots into Air Georgian, and;
  • Providing career fulfillment and advancement opportunities for all employees

SOAR provides partners with managed attrition and gives their employees and students visibility regarding career progression with an entry point to the Air Canada system.

Air Canada’s Pilot Mobility Agreement (PMA)
All Air Georgian pilots are guaranteed an interview with Air Canada through the PMA. Once pilots meet minimum criteria they are eligible to add their name to the Pilot Mobility List which guarantees them an interview with Air Canada. Air Canada has committed to hire 80% of their pilots through Air Georgian’s PML and other Air Canada Express partners.
