NAV CANADA appoints Brian K. Aitken as VP, Finance, CFO and Treasurer

Aug. 20, 2008, Ottawa - NAV CANADA yesterday announced the appointment of Brian K. Aitken as VP, Finance, CFO and Treasurer, effective Sept. 1, 2008.

Aug. 20, 2008, Ottawa – NAV CANADA yesterday announced the appointment of Brian K. Aitken as Vice President, Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, effective September 1, 2008.  Mr. Aitken, who has been acting in this position since July 12, 2008, will replace William Fenton who will be retiring on August 31, 2008.

Aitken joined NAV CANADA in 2002 as Director of Finance and in 2007, was named Assistant Vice President, Finance. Before joining NAV CANADA, Aitken held the Chief Financial Officer position at Calian Technology Ltd., following stints as Vice President, Treasury at Domtar Inc., and Chief Financial Officer at E.B. Eddy Limited. 

"Brian has played a key role in many of the Company’s major strategic initiatives," said John Crichton, President & CEO. "He is well versed in the core business and financial underpinnings of NAV CANADA, having worked through the financial challenges of the post-9/ll industry downturn, the SARS crisis and the implementation of our revised disclosure controls and procedures."

Aitken holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Joint Honours in Accounting and Economics from McGill University, Montreal, and has completed the Executive Program at the University of Western Ontario. He is a member of the Ontario and Canadian Institutes of Chartered Accountants, and of the Financial Executives Institute.
