Nav Canada reaches tentative agreement with CAW

Oct. 25, 2011, Ottawa - The Canadian Auto Workers union has reached a labour tentative agreement for 270 of its members working at Nav Canada, which provides air navigation services to the country's civil
aviation industry.

Members of CAW Local 1016 provide training and operational support to Canada's air traffic control system.

Both sides announced the agreement Monday but no details were disclosed.

The ratification process will take place over the coming weeks. Results are expected in mid-November.

Nav Canada is a private-sector corporation that provides air traffic control, flight information, weather briefings, airport advisory services and navigation aids used by airports, airlines and aircraft operators.
