New air service from Nova Scotia to New England

Feb. 12, 2010, Yarmouth, N.S. - The chairman of Yarmouth's airport commission
says regularly scheduled air service between southwestern Nova Scotia and New England could be up and running again next month.

Martin Pink told town council on Thursday that an American carrier will operate the flights.

He believes an announcement is imminent.

Regularly scheduled passenger air service in Yarmouth ended in December when Starlink Aviation announced it was suspending air service.

The service was suspended after a $2 million development fund ran out.

Pink says without the flights, 24 jobs at the Canada Border Services Agency would be in jeopardy after the cancellation of ferry service between Yarmouth and Maine.
