New Brunswick pilot survives accident

Aug. 18, 2011, Blanchard Settlement, N.B. - A man was treated by paramedics at the scene when the small aircraft he was flying crashed Wednesday in northeastern New Brunswick.

RCMP say the Cessna plane crashed in Blanchard Settlement, about halfway between Caraquet and Tracadie.

Police say the 65-year-old pilot, from the Shippagan area, was alone in the plane.

They say he sustained non life-threatening injuries in the crash.

Members of the Caraquet fire department, as well as employees from NB Power and Transport Canada, responded to the scene.
