"Mexico is an important growth region for GuestLogix, as many airlines in the country have yet to deploy a full onboard retail technology solution," said GuestLogix President & CEO, Brett Proud. "Mexico's airline passenger traffic is strong.  There are more than 30 million passenger trips annually, and carriers such as Aeromexico with their recent purchase of 60 new Boeing aircraft along with new market entrant, Volaris, are proving that growth potential in the region is sound."

The COFETEL certification is required for mobile point-of-sale devices to transmit secure data within Mexico and comes as acknowledgement that GuestLogix is now able to serve all Mexican airlines and travel operators with its full end-to-end solution, effective immediately.

"Though many parts of our solution were already able to serve customers in Mexico, this approval by COFETEL now allows travel operators in the country to use our entire solution in the same way that our more than 60 other airline customers do," said Narayanan Raman, VP Payments & Compliance, GuestLogix.  "We know that in Mexico there is a focus on transacting electronic payments in-flight, and we are proud to now be able to better serve this market."

The COFETEL certification brings GuestLogix up to a total of 29 payment and travel industry certifications for its onboard retail technology platform.
