Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announced that its G650ER completed a record-breaking flight en route to the Middle East and North Africa Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) show in Dubai, continuing until December 12.


Pratt & Whitney celebrated the inauguration of a newly renovated engineering centre in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Pratt & Whitney Canada has received approval from Transport Canada to increase cycle limits on its PT6A-140, -140A and -140AG engines. These increases will extend the life of Low Cycle Fatigue (LCF) parts, such as the power and compressor turbine disks and the impeller.
Flying Colours’ PTE Singapore operation at its Bombardier Seletar Airport facility has expanded the scope of its cabin interior refurbishment services for Asian and Middle Eastern customers. Progressing from simple repairs of cabinetry and soft furnishings, the facility has now completed four full and three partial interior refurbishment projects on two Challenger and five Global aircraft types.
Forge Hydrocarbons Corporation of Edmonton, Alberta, has received a $5.3 million investment from Lockheed Martin under the Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) Policy. Lockheed Martin’s investment is in direct support of these ITB obligations associated with Canada’s purchase of 17 CC-130J Super Hercules aircraft, which were delivered to the Royal Canadian Air Force in 2010. Lockheed Martin also delivers In-Service Support for the CC-130J fleet.
Air Canada today opened its newest Maple Leaf Lounge at LaGuardia Airport in New York City. The new lounge, located after security near Air Canada’s gates, is the first airline lounge to open in the new Terminal B Eastern Concourse.  This is the second of three Maple Leaf Lounges scheduled to open in 2018 and the 23rd across Air Canada’s international network.
Pratt & Whitney Canada extended the basic Time Between Overhaul (TBO) and Hot Section Inspection (HSI) intervals for in-service and future PT6A-140, -140A and -140AG engines. The TBO is increasing to 4,000 from 3,600 hours, while the HSI interval is extended from 1,800 to 2,000 hours, which ultimately provide lower maintenance costs for general aviation operators.
At 2:37 pm EST, some 250 miles above the coast of Yemen, Canadian Space Agency astronaut David Saint-Jacques was welcomed on board the International Space Station by the crew from Expedition 57 that has been orbiting Earth since June 2018.
The Boeing Company on November 30 in Seattle completed delivery of a 737 MAX8 to Xiamen Airlines, which also marked the 2,000th Boeing aircraft destined for China’s civil aviation sector.
