FlyGTA joins Air Georgian SOAR

FlyGTA Airlines, located at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, has joined Air Georgian’s SOAR program designed for aviation career awareness, recruitment and retention. The new partnership will provide what the companies describe as a defined career path for FlyGTA pilots and will offer FlyGTA a transparent process for pilot attrition.

“Having developed a progression program where pilots gain valuable experience in the multi-crew environment, FlyGTA has executed the missing link for the transition to airlines and aims to provide first officers and direct entry captains to Air Georgian’s SOAR Program,” said Chris Nowrouzi, CEO of FlyGTA.

SOAR provides partnered operators and flight schools with what Air Georgian describes as predictable pilot attrition and advance notice of hires. It also gives employees and students of partners visibility regarding career progression and an entry point into the Air Canada system.

Air Georgian states it has launched the careers of more than 6,000 pilots during its 24 years of business. Through its partnership with Air Canada, they are part of a PMA, which guarantees all eligible pilots an interview with Air Canada. Air Georgian operates more than 64,000 regional flights per year on behalf of Air Canada, carrying approximately 1.5 million passengers per year to 31 domestic and U.S. destinations.
