Hawker 900XP earns EASA and other international certifications

March 7, 2008, Wichita, KS –  The aircraft is part of the latest evolution of the mid-size Hawker 800-series. Deliveries of the Hawker 900XP in Europe and other countries began in December 2007.

March 7, 2008, Wichita – Hawker Beechcraft Co. recently achieved certifications by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and several other international agencies for the Hawker 900XP. The aircraft is part of the latest evolution of the mid-size Hawker 800-series. Deliveries of the Hawker 900XP in Europe and other countries began in December 2007.
 
In addition to the EASA certification, the Hawker 900XP also received certification in Australia, Aruba, Czech Republic, Macau, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and United Arab Emirates. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification was completed on August 24, 2007.
 
“Achieving these certifications enables more of our international customers the opportunity to own and operate this exceptional aircraft.” said Brad Hatt, president, commercial sales. “The Hawker 900XP has a lower cost of operations while offering superior capabilities to the highly successful Hawker 850XP. These enhanced capabilities include significant improvements in engine thrust, fuel efficiency, range and overall performance.”
 
The Hawker 900XP launches Honeywell’s new TFE731-50R engine exhibiting improved hot and high altitude performance. At 5,000 feet airport elevation with ISA+20 Celsius, the engine produces 3,970 pounds of thrust, a 4.5 percent improvement over the 850XP’s 3,800 pounds of thrust. Engine temperature ratings at sea level are 19 percent better for normal takeoff (NTO) and 15 percent better for Automatic Pressure Reserve (APR). Major Periodic Inspections (MPI) and Compressor Zone Inspections (CZI) will increase from 2,100/4,200 hours to 3,000/6,000 having a positive impact on engine cost of operations.
 
Long range cruise improves to almost 2,800 nautical miles National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) range with six passengers, allowing it to make a non-stop flight from New York to anywhere on the West Coast 99.9 percent of the time. At high speed cruise, range improves to 2,307 nautical miles for the Hawker 900XP as compared to the Hawker 850XP’s 2,111 nautical miles range, almost a 9 percent improvement.
 
Operators will also see lower cost of operations as a result of the efficiencies of the new Honeywell TFE731-50R engines, resulting in 5 percent lower fuel burn and 10 percent lower engine maintenance costs on MSP enrolled engines. Thus, total direct operating costs will be reduced 5 percent and cost per nautical mile drops 6 percent.
 
The Hawker 900XP has the same cabin size as the Hawker 800-series, the largest and most successful cabin in its class. Featuring a factory-customized interior by HBC’s Little Rock Completion Center, and the very popular HBC designed winglets, the 900XP is well positioned to continue to be the most preferred airplane in the midsize segment.
