MAG partners with New Mountain Capital

MAG Aerospace, a global provider of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) solutions, on June 7 announced a partnership with New Mountain Capital, an investment firm that currently manages more than $20 billion in assets.{gallery}15698{/gallery}

Based in New York, New Mountain is providing MAG with what is described as significant financial and strategic resources to support growth initiatives, which include launching new contracts and pursuing acquisitions. “New Mountain is known for its focus on partnering with founders and its business building approach, and MAG will have deep resources at its disposal to help us achieve our strategic growth objectives,” said Joe Fluet, CEO and founder of MAG.  

Headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, MAG is described as providing full-spectrum ISR including operations, training, and technical services, as well as specialty aviation services. With more than 1,000 employees, it operates more than 200 aerial platforms across six continents, which includes its primary Canadian operation based at Dryden Regional Airport in Ontario. MAG delivers approximately 100,000 flight hours annually in support of its customers’ missions.



MAG customers include U.S. government defense and civilian agencies, intergovernmental organizations like the UN and NATO, and allied governments. MAG also supports a range of humanitarian missions like FEMA’s disaster relief efforts in the Caribbean following the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season, forest fire detection in Canada, and United Nations-led peacekeeping and environmental monitoring.
