NAV CANADA employees come up big in support of Ottawa Hospital

“It is impressive that every year our contribution has exceeded the amount raised the previous year,” said John Crichton, President and CEO of NAV CANADA. “In 2008, we raised $200,000 doubling that first year target of $100,000. I am proud of our employees’ continuing generosity and commitment that has propelled our donation to the Hospital to new heights.”

Since 2008, the total amount raised by employees — supplemented by matching dollars from the Company and supplier donations — tallies up to $2.37 million.

Elizabeth Cameron, Assistant Vice President, Labour & Employee Relations and the 2015 Campaign Chair, expressed her appreciation to all the employees who supported the campaign.

“I’d also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my dedicated Campaign team for their tremendous efforts and enthusiasm,” said Cameron. “The special events they helped organize this year were not only a financial success, but fun too. The volunteers who gave their time to work on events such as the golf tournament, a fashion show and a Company hockey tournament deserve so much credit.”

Tim Kluke, President and CEO of The Ottawa Hospital Foundation, said, “This donation of $375,000 is an outstanding achievement that will have a significant impact on the cancer research and therapy development being done by Dr. John Bell. He and his team are conducting promising studies in the use of oncolytic viruses to fight this disease.”

A cheque was presented to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation on June 19, at the NAV CANADA Employee Golf Tournament.
