Thales wins key Canadian defence honour
Thales has received the award as Canada’s top-ranked defence company for 2015 from Canadian Defence Review (CDR), Canada's leading defence and military magazine.

The occasion was marked by a presentation from CDR’s Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Peter Kitchen to Thales Canada Inc. President and CEO Mark Halinaty at the Thales booth #1701, at the CANSEC defence and security trade show.
Recognizing Thales’s activity in a wide spectrum of disciplines including defence systems, avionics, and transportation, Kitchen praised Thales’ dedication to developing home-grown technologies and to investing in Canada and its people.
“Thales in Canada has developed home-grown solutions for Canada’s navy, supplying programs like the Halifax-class modernization project and NSPS.” Kitchten said. “Thales is currently implementing IMIC3, a program to integrate the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Coast Guard from a command and control perspective. Also, Thales in Canada is a leading candidate to supply the Canadian army, navy and air force with Canadian solutions for LCSS, NSPS, TAPV, and CP140.
Furthermore, Thales has demonstrated a long-term commitment to, and investment in Canadian innovation and research. As a result, Canada is now home to one of Thales’ handful of global Research and Technology centres as well as an Urban Science – Mixed Research Unit (US-MRU), both located in Quebec city.
