F-35 program slammed by auditor general
The Department of National Defence did not run a fair competition to choose the F-35 fighter jet, is likely underestimating the total procurement cost, and made key decisions without required approvals or proper documentation, the auditor general concludes in his spring report released today.

CAE snags simulator deals in excess of $90 million
CAE has announced a $90 million deal for full-flight simulators with a number of clients including: an ATR72-500 to Air Algerie in Algeria; a Boeing 737NG to Emirates-CAE Flight Training (ECFT) in Dubai, UAE; two Airbus A320 FFSs for the new Interglobe-CAE joint venture airline training centre in Delhi, India; an Embraer ERJ-190 to Zhuhai Flight Training Centre (ZFTC) in Zhuhai, China; plus two FFSs to undisclosed customers.

Air Canada CEO wants Aveos workers rehired
The head of Air Canada told a parliamentary committee last week that he hopes heavy maintenance companies will hire the terminated workers from defunct Aveos Fleet Performance Inc. to meet the airline's aircraft overhaul needs in Canada.
