NAV CANADA reports 4.7 per cent jump in June traffic
NAV CANADA has announced its traffic figures for the month of June 2016 as measured in weighted charging units for enroute, terminal and oceanic air navigation services, in comparison to the last fiscal year.
The traffic in June 2016 increased by an average of 4.7 per cent compared to the same month in 2015.
Fiscal 2016 year-to-date traffic has been 3.7 per cent higher than in the prior fiscal year. NAV CANADA’s fiscal year runs from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31. Excluding the effect of leap year, year-to-date traffic has grown by 3.4 per cent.
Weighted charging units represent a traffic measure that reflects the number of flights, aircraft size and distance flown in Canadian airspace.
