Piscatella retires from Tailwind Technologies

Nov. 28, 2011, Piqua, Oh. - Tailwind Technologies of Piqua, Ohio, recognizes the career of senior vice-president, business development, Mike Piscatella, who retired from Hartzell Propeller’s parent company on October 31st, 2011.

Since joining the company in 2003, Piscatella was heavily involved with Tailwind’s acquisition of Industrial Tube Company, AcousticFab, and Electrofilm Manufacturing Company, all three currently operating under the Hartzell Aerospace umbrella. Additionally, he served an operating role as president of these companies as they were integrated into Tailwind. In the last few years, Piscatella has helped nurture and strengthen relationships with key customers and assisted with the acquisition of Mayday Manufacturing and Hartzell Engine Technologies.

Tailwind president, Jim Brown III said, "Given Mike’s broad background and deep knowledge of the aerospace and aviation business, spanning 43 years, his expertise was instrumental in bringing momentum to Tailwind's growth and acquisition strategy, facilitating a double-digit compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) and more than doubling the sales of the consolidated group of operating companies. We are deeply appreciative of all he has done for our company. "

Prior to joining Hartzell, Piscatella served as a division president leading to group president positions at Goodrich Corporation from 1993 to 2002. During this period he led the acquisition of six businesses for his groups in the U.S. and Europe. Prior to Goodrich, he spent 26 years with Textron Lycoming in various roles including director of operations, director spares and customer support, director international business development, VP quality and VP overhaul and repair.

During his 43 years in the aerospace industry, Piscatella has developed a global understanding of the aerospace business along with a network to match. Piscatella serves on the Board of Directors of IWG Technologies, Inc. based in Vancouver, B.C., and the President’s Advisory Board of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
