The new schedule, consisting of three daily roundtrip flights between Timmins and downtown Toronto, provides a welcome alternative to Timmins travellers, and adds to Porter’s already popular presence in Northern Ontario.

“Timmins is the latest destination to experience the unique and premium service that Porter is known for,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “Our existing Northern Ontario markets have embraced Porter’s refined, stress-free approach to air travel and we look forward to an equally enthusiastic response from this vibrant community.”

This is the eighteenth destination in Porter’s network, and the first of several new services to launch this year. Timmins passengers can also access connecting flights to other Porter destinations from Toronto City Airport.

“Today, I am pleased to officially welcome Porter Airlines to the City of Timmins,” said Mayor Tom Laughren. “This new service will help us attract new business and grow our share of tourism dollars by appealing to greater tourism markets in search of year round adventures that are new, unique, and easily accessible. Our ability to provide consumers with an affordable alternative to our traditional transportation modes is important and will serve the city, its residents and business community today and well into the future.”

“The addition of Timmins to the Porter Airlines list of destinations has been eagerly anticipated for some months now,” said Dave Dayment, Airport Manager of Timmins Victor M. Power Airport. “This will result in additional flight options and greater passenger flexibility. Air transportation will become a real transportation choice for both the business and leisure traveller to and from our region of Northern Ontario. On behalf of the staff and tenants of the Timmins Victor M. Power Airport, I would like to extend a warm welcome all members of the Porter family. I look forward to a long and valuable relationship.”
