Porter to suspend service beginning March 20

March 18, 2020  By Wings Staff

Porter Airlines announced plans to temporarily suspend flights at the conclusion of the operating day on Friday, March 20. The Toronto-based airline expects to resume service on June 1.

In a statement, Michael Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines Inc. notes the March 20 to June 1 period should ideally allow for the COVID-19 public health crisis to diminish, followed by the needed time for Porter to effectively restart operations.

“We intend to operate a schedule through Friday, to ensure all customers have an opportunity to complete trips or make last-minute travel arrangements. This will occur as long as aviation and public health infrastructure allows us to do so safely,” stated Deluce.

Porter Airlines has also waived change and cancellation fees for all flights to assist its passengers in returning home on short notice.
