Pratt & Whitney Canada now offers Altair Avionics data transmission units (DTUs) for installation on the Cessna XL/XLS, Cessna 680 Sovereign, Gulfstream G200 and Dassault Falcon 2000EX business aircraft, following recent Supplemental Type Certification by the US Federal Aviation Authority.

Altair's data transmission unit is a critical component of the onboard engine performance monitoring system. The DTU captures engine health data and transmits it wirelessly through the cellular network for analysis using a dedicated Web tool. Engine parameters such as temperature, fuel flow and speed, can be captured after every flight, allowing for earlier analysis and better planning of maintenance needs and costs.

"The DTU saves time and money for operators, and reduces technician and pilot workload by eliminating the need to manually download key engine performance information," said Doug Thompson, general manager of Altair.
