Rousseau Metal Inc. of St-Jean-Port-Joli, QC, has commercially released its new R-Go motorized toolbox. The company explains that R-Go is designed to safely transport heavy loads over long distances.

“Employers are increasingly concerned about the impact of musculoskeletal disorders [MSDs] on the health of their staff. As the name suggests, the R-Go motorized toolbox meets the strictest requirements for ergonomics and safety,” said Michel Lacombe, deputy general manager at Rousseau.

By reducing considerable physical effort and the risk of injury, the company describes how the R-Go can in turn reduce costs associated with workplace injuries while improving employee retention. The company continues to explain how moving the toolbox is easy and safe, given its combination of electromagnetic brakes, polyurethane ball-bearing wheels and motorized wheels.

The new motorized toolbox is based on the R Heavy-Duty Cabinet, one of the company’s flagship products. The toolbox’ handle features three modes for when the toolbox needs to be moved. The R-Go can be used on both flat and sloped surfaces.

The R-Go won silver at the European Product Design Award 2018 for its creative, functional and innovative design, explains Rousseau, noting the significant time and financial investment allocated to design the product.

Rousseau was founded nearly 70 years ago and now has two plants covering a total of 254,000 square feet, in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli and L’Islet. The company specializes in the manufacture of high-end automotive and industrial storage solutions.
