The Comox Valley Airport now has a new fuel tank that holds 120,000
litres of fuel, an airside refueller truck and other new equipment and
services.

“Shell Aviation has a long history of providing products and services to over 7,000 flights a day across the globe and we are proud to add the Comox Valley Airport to our network,” says Julie Laviolette, General Manager, Shell Aviation North America. “We are pleased to be working with the airport to provide faster and more efficient service to aircraft in Comox.”

The new equipment and two new staff members will allow for aircraft to be met on the apron to be refuelled, which will take less time than previous fuelling. This means faster, more efficient stopovers for aircraft.

"This is a very important milestone for the airport. It may be a behind-the-scenes facility as far as passengers are concerned, but the new aviation refueling facility definitely enhances our operations" says Shirley de Silva, Comox Valley Airport Chief Executive Officer.

Shell Aviation and the Comox Valley Airport developed this long-term relationship in response to the identification of a need for a more efficient way of fuelling aircraft.
