Shuster serves as chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, a role that includes legislative oversight of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

“We are pleased that Rep. Shuster will speak with attendees at our convention, where his perspectives will be especially beneficial to our industry as Congress prepares to take up FAA reauthorization in the coming year,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “Additionally, Rep. Shuster has also remained a steadfast supporter of our country’s aviation industry, and a respected leader on aviation policy, through his work on the Transportation and Infrastructure committee, and his membership in the House General Aviation Caucus.”

Shuster joins Andrew C. Taylor, executive chairman of Enterprise Holdings, and Chris Hart, acting chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), in speaking at the Opening General Session of NBAA2014, taking place Oct. 21 at 8:30 a.m. in the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC).

Shuster has served on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee since his election to Congress in 2001. He previously served as chairman of the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials and as chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management. He also serves on the House Armed Services Committee, where he is an active voice in support of the Armed Services and a recognized leader on national security matters.
