SITA provides North American first to Pearson International

SITA, a technology provider for the air transport industry, is delivering an airport collaborative decision making (A-CDM) solution for Toronto Pearson International Airport, in partnership with Wipro Limited, a global information technology services company. The system aims to help drive efficiencies through real-time information sharing between airport stakeholders. It is the first such deployment at an airport in North America.

The solution incorporates SITA’s patented technology, SITA Airport Management Solution, and leverages Wipro’s airport technology and delivery expertise to run complete operations. The solution, explains SITA, will allow the airport, its airlines and their ground handlers, and air traffic management partners to share data in real-time for rapid and efficient decision making. The goal of the program is to create improved turnaround times, optimize use of airport infrastructure and to improve passenger experiences.

Toronto Pearson is Canada’s busiest airport, with over 47 million passengers and 465,000 aircraft movements in 2017. Since 2016, Wipro has been the strategic IT and business transformation partner of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA), which operates Toronto Pearson. The company is also a strategic technology partner to three of the top ASQ ranked airports in the world.

The GTAA aims to begin testing the A-CDM solution during daily operations by November 2018.
