Skyplan opens new Sharjah, UAE facility 

Flight support services provider Skyplan has announced the launch of its new office in Sharjah, UAE. The size of the development investment is undisclosed.The addition of this facility complements Skyplan’s Canadian operation headquartered in Calgary, since 1985.

Nov. 18, 2008, Dubai – Flight support services provider Skyplan has announced the launch of its new office in Sharjah, UAE. The size of the development investment is undisclosed.The addition of this facility complements Skyplan’s Canadian operation headquartered in Calgary, since 1985.


The UAE office will provide local access to all of Skyplan’s services, including web based flight planning, contract flight dispatch, over flight and landing permissions, ground handling and contract jet fuel. Both centers are equipped with state-of-the-art communication facilities, with 44 fully qualified dispatchers working around the clock.Adrian Bone, Skyplan’s president says:


“The new office will provide valuable flight support services in the fast growing Middle East and Asian aviation markets.”Skyplan's managing director, UAE Muhammad Sami explains the rationale behind the decision to establish operations in Sharjah. He says: “We felt that there was a huge demand and need of a one window flight services provider in this region.”Skyplan owns and maintain its indigenous flight planning software.


In addition to its online services for computerized flight planning, the company offers a broad range of support services globally, including: contract fuel, worldwide ground handling arrangements, landing and over flight permits, accommodation and transportation for crew and passengers, and contract flight dispatch, licensed for most regulatory authorities worldwide. Sami adds: “These services are invaluable to small and medium size operators, as they provide huge cost savings for them.”
