ST Aerospace highlights VIP completion contracts at NBAA

Oct. 20, 2014, Singapore - ST Aerospace’s VIP completions brand ‘AERIA Luxury Interiors’ (AERIA) has announced the clinching of a maintenance contract on a Boeing 757-200 VIP Head of State aircraft at NBAA 2014.  This follows contract wins for its first green 737 BBJ aircraft completion in February and first nose-to-tail cabin completion for a wide-body VIP aircraft in August this year.

All maintenance activities on the Boeing 757-200 Head of State aircraft will take place in AERIA’s hangars in San Antonio, Texas.  In parallel to a heavy maintenance visit, the aircraft will undergo component overhauls, modification work on engine inlets as well as an avionics upgrade to be future air navigation system (FANS) capable.  The narrow-body aircraft is scheduled to be redelivered by the end of this year.

AERIA is present at this year’s NBAA 2014 in Orlando, Florida with a one-fifth scale 3D-printed BBJ model at booth #1685.  This BBJ model was produced in-house by AERIA’s state-of-the-art 3D printer, and depicts a lounge and dining room on-board an aircraft with all the intricate details.  The aircraft model is complete with 1080i digital screens, RGB lighting, and customized carpets.  The use of 3D printing is a highly effective way of showcasing AERIA’s design capabilities to its customers, providing them with a ‘sneak-peak’ of the final product.  To help customers better visualize aircraft interiors, AERIA will be using similar scale models for all marketing presentations in the future.

In addition to technological innovations, AERIA’s facility will embark on a 21,000-sq ft expansion this year, with the addition of a new cabinet and upholstery shop, as well as another building complex for the design, sales and marketing teams.
