StandardAero inks deal with Russian carrier

Aug. 26, 2011 – StandardAero has secured a fleet maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) contract from Russian regional carrier Ak Bars Aero.

Aug. 26, 2011 – StandardAero has secured a fleet maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) contract from Russian regional carrier Ak Bars Aero.

Under the contract, StandardAero will be responsible for maintenance of Ak Bars' fleet of General Electric CF34-3B1 engines on its seven Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft.

It will also undertake the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) on Honeywell GTCP36-150RJ auxiliary power units.

The engine maintenance work will be performed at StandardAero's CF34 engine facility in Winnipeg, Canada, and APU MRO will be done at the company's Maryville, Tennessee, US, facility.

Ak Bars Aero, formerly Bugulma Aviation Enterprise, is part of the Ak Bars Holding Company which owns 16 aircraft, including nine Yak-40s as well as seven 50-seat CRJ-200s.
