Three suppliers from the aviation industry have been named as finalists in the Business in Vancouver’s 2019 BC Export Awards, including SEI Industries, Conair Group and ARC Aviation. The winners will be announced November 22, 2019, during a gala event at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver, BC.

Conair Group is a finalist in the category of Advancing Technology and Innovation. Conair delivers a range of purpose-engineered, aerial firefighting, multi-role aircraft and services worldwide. It manufactures modified RJ85 and Q400MR aircraft for use in aerial firefighting and transporting people/cargo in support of emergency response operations.

ARC Aviation Renewables Corp. of Victoria, BC, is positioned in the program’s Professional Services category. ARC develops LED airfield lighting systems, including a range of portable products.

SEI Industries Ltd. is a finalist in the manufacturing category. It develops and manufactures niche products for the helicopter industry through two major divisions: Aerial Firefighting and Remote Site. The Aerial Division features the world-renowned Bambi Bucket System, which has been shipped to more than 110 countries globally. Designed to extinguish forest fires using water or foam, SEI states the Bambi Bucket accounts for 90 per cent of the world’s aerial-firefighting market and is used by more than 1,000 helicopter operators globally.

SEI Remote Site develops fuel products including the Bulk Aviation Transfer Tank (BATT). First introduced in 2011, the BATT provides both fixed wing and helicopter operators with what the company describes as a safe, cost-effective and environmentally friendly method for transporting fuel. It has been exported across North and South America, Asia, Europe and Africa.
