Sept. 22, 2011, Tucson, AZ – Universal Avionics is pleased to announce Field Aviation and Hawker Pacific as its 2011 Top Dealer award recipients. The presentation and awards ceremony will occur at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Annual Convention Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This year, Hawker Pacific has been named Top Dealer International, and for the second year in a row Field Aviation has been named Top Dealer North America. Every year at the NBAA Convention, Universal Avionics recognizes two dealers out of several hundred in its authorized dealer network that achieve outstanding sales performance.

Top Dealer North America
Field Aviation successfully launched its flight deck upgrade program for the classic Q-Series (Dash 8) aircraft this year. The first customer deliveries are now off the modification line and providing Q-Series operators with flight deck capabilities comparable to those of new aircraft.

The upgrade consists of five EFI-890R Flat Panel Displays and dual Vision-1® Synthetic Vision Systems. Analog engine instruments are replaced by the fifth dedicated EFI-890R engine display. The new displays integrate seamlessly with dual UNS-1 WAAS/SBAS Flight Management Systems. Operators of Dash 8/Q-Series 100, 200 and 300 aircraft including those operating in special mission roles are benefiting from a previously-unavailable level of safety and situational awareness inherent to EFI-890R flat panel integrated displays and peripherals.

“We’re fortunate to have a dealer-partner with Field Aviation’s worldwide reach and technical expertise,” says Norm Matheis, Universal’s Regional Manager for Canada. “Field’s Dash 8 flight deck upgrade shows every sign of being a winner for the operators as the long-awaited avionics modernization to complement Bombardier’s structural life extension program.”

Top Dealer International
Strong support of WAAS/SBAS-FMS installations on regional Dash 8 fleets, as well as turboprops such as the Beechcraft King Air, has spurred sales for Hawker Pacific this year. We’re very excited to see Hawker Pacific attain the status of our Top Dealer International,” says Dan Reida, Universal’s Vice President of Marketing and Product Support. “With their strong presence in Australia, Asia, the Pacific and Middle East, we feel they’re a key partner in the promotion of Universal Avionics’ products to this growing market.”

Jason Burzacott, General Manager for Hawker Pacific’s, Australian Avionics business unit commented, “We are fortunate to provide support for over 400 customers in what we call our regional avionics network and we are sincerely grateful for their continued custom that has enabled us to achieve this significant milestone. At a time where there is diminishing local support for avionics products, Universal has invested considerable time and effort to ensure the Hawker Pacific / Australian Avionics / Universal Avionics team can provide the best sales and service here in the Asia Pacific Region.”

The Senior Vice President of Australian and New Zealand Operations, for Hawker Pacific, Doug Park went on to say, “Hawker Pacific has enjoyed an exemplary relationship with Universal going back over 20 years and an extension to this long standing partnership, saw the establishment of a Universal Avionics Service Centre within our Australian Avionics and MRO, Cairns, North Queensland facility in mid-2007.”

Alan Smith, Hawker Pacific’s CEO, will accept the award for Top Dealer International at this year’s NBAA Convention on behalf of Hawker Pacific.
