The Controlled Goods Program was put in place by Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) to ensure a strict security control related to the safekeeping and handling of Controlled Goods.

Trescal Montreal provides a variety of services for the test and measurement instrument market, from standard technical services (verification, calibration and repair) to on-site services as well as the sale and rental of test and measurement instruments. Trescal Montreal employs 38 people to the service of various industrial sectors, including the Aeronautic and Defence industries.

Any person or business safekeeping and/or handling Controlled Goods within Canada is required, based on the Defence Production Act, to be registered by the Government of Canada or in some cases be exempt from such a registration.

As a Registered Controlled Goods organization, Trescal Montreal is now authorized to fulfill calibration and other instrument service demands to those organizations and agencies possessing controlled goods in Canada.
