June 16, 2009 – TrueNorth Avionics, has introduced the exclusive Simphone (pronounced ‘symphony’) Graphical Communications Management Console (GCMC), an adjunct to the Simphone airborne telecommunications system that enables aircraft operators to monitor all their incoming and outbound inflight telecommunications, including voice, data and fax transmissions, via an advanced graphical interface. Developed for TrueNorth dealer Gore Design Completions, Ltd., the Simphone GCMC gives widebody operators a unique ‘war room’-style view of their active communications. The initial installation is being performed by Gore aboard an Airbus A340-500 that also features a Simphone¯ airborne communications system with some 41 handsets.
