cadetsDec. 30, 2013 – A cash-crunch is hitting the country’s military cadets who are searching for surplus uniforms to hand out to new recruits.

The organization, which has 52,000 members, put a temporary freeze on issuing new uniforms in the fall as it scrambled to figure out how to deal with its tight finances as well as determine what equipment it had on hand. It now hopes to be able to ensure each cadet has one uniform.

At the same time, cadets are being asked to look around their homes for older uniforms that can be given to new recruits. “I also urge all Cadets to dig into their closets for uniforms that they no longer wear and to seek out those uniform pieces that friends no longer with the program may have,” noted a recent message sent out to cadet units from headquarters. | READ MORE
