The Hartford, Connecticut, aerospace and building systems conglomerate announced Tuesday that David Hess has been appointed senior vice president of aerospace business development. He retired from Pratt & Whitney in 2014 and previously was president of aerospace parts maker Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary that later became part of United Technologies’ aerospace division.

United Technologies says Hess will work with Pratt & Whitney and UTC Aerospace Systems to strengthen relationships with aerospace customers and partners.

The company, which also manufactures Otis elevators and Sikorsky helicopters, announced last week that Alain Bellemare, president and CEO of UTC Propulsion and Aerospace Systems, will leave at the end of the month.
