The company will provide the equipment through its Landing Systems facility in Troy, Ohio.  Qatar Airways took delivery of their first A350-900 aircraft in December 2014.

The A350 XWB carbon brakes use proprietary DURACARB® carbon heat sink material which has exhibited superior brake life performance on other in-service programs thereby creating significant cost savings over the life of the aircraft for our customers through fewer brake removals and associated maintenance and overhaul activity. UTC Aerospace Systems is the first wheel and brake supplier certified on the A350-900 program.

“UTC Aerospace Systems is proud to support A350 launch customer Qatar Airways,” stated Jim Wharton, senior vice president, Landing Systems. “We look forward to being a significant contributor to Qatar Airways’ future and its continued success.”

Qatar Airways is the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar. Headquartered in the Qatar Airways Tower in Doha, the airline reaches over 140 destinations across Africa, Central Asia, Europe, Far East, South Asia, Middle East, North America, South America and Oceania from its base at the new Hamad International Airport.
