Vancouver Airport Authority Announces New Directors to Board

July 23, 2008, Richmond, BC /CNW/ - Graham Clarke, Chair, on behalf of the Board of Directors, announced today the appointment of two new Directors: George E.H. Cadman, Q.C., appointee of the Government of Canada and Wilson Parasiuk, appointee of Metro Vancouver.

July 23, 2008, Richmond, BC /CNW/ – Graham Clarke, Chair, on behalf of the Board of Directors, announced today the appointment of two new Directors:George E.H. Cadman, Q.C., appointee of the Government of Canada and WilsonParasiuk, appointee of Metro Vancouver.

"Theiraccomplishments in business and contributions to community organizations willbe great assets to the Airport Authority, and will help ensure that YVRcontinues to be a source of pride for all British Columbians."

George E.H. Cadman is a shareholder of Boughton Law Corporation practicing civil litigation, with an emphasis on resolution of corporate,commercial, securities and real estate disputes. He was appointed Queen'sCounsel in 1990. He has an active practice in both mediation and arbitration.In addition to his position with the Airport Authority, Mr. Cadman serves onthe Board of the Vancouver Board of Trade, President of the Kiwanis Foundationof Canada, and Chancellor of the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster.

Mr. Parasiuk is an entrepreneur with more than 35 years experience in theprivate and public sectors. He is founder and CEO of the Paralink Group ofCompanies which organizes international public/private sector partnerships inthe export of Canada's expertise in health care, education and governmentservices. Previous positions he has held include: Deputy Chair and CEO ofInterhealth Canada Ltd; Chair and CEO of the British Columbia TradeDevelopment Corporation; and President of Vancity Enterprises. Mr. Parasiukalso had a distinguished public sector career in the Canadian, Manitoba, andBritish Columbia governments serving as a civil servant, MLA, CabinetMinister, and as Chair and CEO of various Crown Corporations. He serves or hasserved on the Boards of private, non-profit and public companies and entitiesat the local, provincial, national, and international levels.

The predecessors to the two new Directors were Beth Johnson and Ronald N.Stern. "The Airport Authority benefited greatly from their vision andguidance," said Mr. Clarke. "On behalf of the Airport Authority, we thank themfor their many contributions to our airport and our community." Recently re-appointed to the Airport Authority Board were Peter Dhillon,appointee of the City of Richmond, Philip Owen, appointee of the City ofVancouver, and Graham Clarke, director at large.

Mr. Clarke was elected toanother term as Chair. Vancouver Airport Authority is governed by a Board of 14 Directors. NineDirectors, with key ties to the local community, are appointed by eightnominating entities. Up to five Directors are appointed by the Board from thecommunity at large. The Airport Authority President and Chief ExecutiveOfficer also serves as a Director.
