June 30, 2010, Toronto – Virgin America celebrated the
launch of its first international city on Tuesday, and sets its sights on its next
new destination.

The airline toasted its Toronto
service on a celebrated flight from Los
Angeles
International Airport (LAX)-San Francisco International
Airport (SFO)-Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Governor
Arnold Schwarzenegger joined Virgin Group Founder Sir
Richard Branson
onboard the LAX-SFO leg, and via WiFi from
35,000 feet over the California coast, the two announced the airline's
intent to serve a new destination: Mexico.

Upon touchdown at SFO, San Francisco Mayor
Gavin Newsom
welcomed Sir Richard,
the Governor and other guests. The SFO-YYZ flight then continued on to
cross the border in style with Toronto
native (and the No.1 artist in North America),
Drake, hosting a mile high party en route.

Although the airline's service began June 23,
the celebrated flight took place on June 29
due to G8/G20 events.

Despite missing the G8/G20, Virgin America's Toronto
launch may just cause its own international incident. Some of the
airline's first Toronto guests will
enjoy cocktails, music and a mile high party under the airline's
signature moodlighting as they cross the border in style. Celebs taking
part in the celebration include Cheryl Burke,
Stacy Keibler, Eric Roberts and and
Gilles Marini. Upon touchdown of Virgin America's "Air Drake" in Toronto, flight guests including Drake fans
who scored a fly-away trip to the West Coast and a seat for one of the
hottest tickets in the skies, will receive an international welcome with
a Virgin twist: a bottle-popping arrival reception on the tarmac.
Flight guests will mingle with Toronto
VIPs and toast the new service on touch-down with Mumm Napa(R) Sparkling
Wine from California's Napa Valley.
