The partnership complements both companies' investment in the community and in the creation of an environment where people can connect.

Starting in May 2011, the WestJet Stage, located in the heart of Toronto's downtown waterfront, will host a variety of exciting events, including music, dance and film, as part of Harbourfront Centre's summer programme. The popular amphitheatre was built in July 1992 and seats over 1,500 people with additional standing room for 3,000 people. Nestled along the shore of Lake Ontario, this stage has welcomed internationally renowned acts such as Mos Def, K'naan, Feist, Broken Social Scene and has launched the careers of many local performers.

"We are thrilled to welcome WestJet to Harbourfront Centre for what will be a busy and exciting summer season on the WestJet Stage. We couldn't have found a more fitting partner to join us in celebrating the summer," said William J.S. Boyle, Chief Executive Officer of Harbourfront Centre.

WestJet supports 26 festivals across Canada and brings a unique, fun-and-friendly culture to each of their partnerships. With the Harbourfront Centre as their namesake, WestJet will reach the 12.5 million people who visit the site every year. In addition to this naming partnership, WestJet will also work with community organizations producing festivals with the Harbourfront Centre and help to bring artists to the Centre through its 71-city network. WestJetters will also be on hand over the summer months to give festival-goers a chance to win flights anywhere WestJet flies.

"This partnership is one more component to WestJet's increasing presence in the largest market in Canada. We look forward to sharing the WestJet spirit with the millions of visitors to the WestJet Stage."
