Orlando is one of Waterloo Region’s top travel destinations. “The Region of Waterloo International Airport is pleased to now be able to provide this highly desirable service to our local residents,” said Regional Chair, Ken Seiling. “Growing air service from Waterloo Region is important to our local economy for both the business and leisure traveller, and we are excited to add Orlando as our newest destination”.

WestJet has operated from the Region of Waterloo International Airport since May 2007. In addition to the new Orlando service, WestJet also provides non-stop daily service between Waterloo Region and Calgary year-round with additional one-stop connections to a number of other great Canadian cities.

“This is an exciting day for WestJet and our valued, loyal guests in Waterloo Region,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Director of Network and Schedule Planning. “It’s been an honour to serve the community for more than eight years and we are enormously grateful for its loyalty and support. Orlando is one of our most-requested and most-popular destinations, and we know our friends in Waterloo Region will love its many world-class theme parks, attractions and activities.”

Orlando service will operate weekly from the Region of Waterloo International Airport through April 28, 2016 and use WestJet’s Next Generation Boeing 737-700 series jet aircraft with 130 seats for residents of Waterloo Region and surrounding communities.
