Winnipeg Airports Authority releases 3Q results

Oct. 25, 2011, Winnipeg - Passenger traffic levels at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport for the third quarter were 2.7 per cent higher as compared to 2010.

Revenues were $21.2 million for the third quarter of 2011, an increase of 2.8% over 2010 third quarter revenues. Operating costs, net of amortization, were $8.9 million for the quarter, which equaled 2010. Net income was $6.0 million for the quarter (2010 – $8.6 million). Cash flow generated from operations continues to be positive at $12.3 million for the quarter (2010 – $11.7 million).

The facility will become the centerpiece of our vision to have Winnipeg recognized as an intermodal, global airport city."

Quarterly Highlights:

Domestic traffic grew by 3.7% for the quarter.
Cargo activity increased 3.4% year to date.
Participation by 1,550 community volunteers at public trials in the new air terminal building.
Charter season commences November 15th with sun seekers choosing from locations in Cuba, the Caribbean, Mexico, Panama and the United States.
