YYC to be home to five weekly WestJet flights to London-Gatwick

In welcoming the announcement by WestJet, Garth Atkinson, president and CEO of the Calgary Airport Authority says the new service is another important milestone in growth for WestJet as it expands both domestically and internationally, and in the shared history between the airport and the airline.

“Having such a tremendous history with WestJet since the company was launched here in Calgary in 1996, we are extremely proud not only of being such a big part of WestJet’s newest service offering to the U.K., but to be the airport where the airline is building its international service offering.”

With an average of 114 WestJet and WestJet Encore flights each day, YYC has more WestJet flights than any other Canadian airport.

“As a key hub for both WestJet and WestJet Encore service and as the home of the airline’s head office, we look forward to welcoming additional exciting announcements from WestJet in the future,” the Authority president and CEO added.
