Air Canada pilots issues job action warning

April 13, 2012, Toronto - Air Canada has issued a Canada-wide travel alert amid reports of possible job action by some pilots.

A message on the airline's website warns "airport disruptions'' could disrupt flights across the country all day and into the weekend.

The alert comes as various media reports say a small group of pilots may stage a ''sick-in'' to express their displeasure with airline management.

The Air Canada Pilots Association has reportedly urged members to go to work as usual and disregard pilots who want colleagues to book off sick.

There was no indication early today that pilots have been calling in sick, although there are a handful of flight cancellations in Toronto and Montreal.
