Commenting on the new route development, Denis Codere, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer, SkyGreece Airlines, says: “I’ve had the pleasure to meet with Budapest Airport on numerous occasions in the last few years. Our latest discussions have clearly demonstrated the certain success of our new link between Toronto and Budapest. Hungarian tourism is growing every year and the popularity of Budapest is a must-see for all Canadian travellers.”

Using its 767-300 to serve the airport pair, SkyGreece Airlines will add 548 weekly seats to the Budapest-Toronto route, giving the Greek start-up airline a 62% share of all scheduled seats from Budapest to Canada’s largest city, and 12% of all scheduled long-haul seats at the airport.

Kam Jandu, CCO, Budapest Airport adds: “We are elated to be celebrating our first new route announcement of 2015. SkyGreece Airlines’ direct route to Toronto highlights our commitment to constantly strengthen our connectivity and providing all our passengers with considerable choice. The announcement of another connection between Budapest and Canada is a great indication of the real demand for further exchange between the two countries.”
