The FFS will be ready for training in the summer of 2012.

"This new ATR training capability further extends CAE's broad and deep commitment to the aviation community in India and the region," said Jeff Roberts, CAE's Group President, Civil Simulation Products, Training and Services. "Positioning this resource close to our ATR customers' base of operations will enable them to be more efficient while continuing to train the pilot skills and decision-making that enhances safety and effectiveness."

CAE will relocate the ATR 42/72 FFS from its training centre in Brussels, Belgium. The FFS is modeled for the ATR72-500 and ATR42-300 configurations.

The CAE training centre in Bengaluru is the first independent training centre to earn approval as a fixed-wing Type Rating Training Organization (TRTO) by India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DCGA). The centre also offers instructor-led "wet" and "dry" training for the Airbus A320 series and Boeing 737 aircraft.
