CAE to open new airline training centre in Spain.

April 17, 2012, Orlando, Fla. - CAE today announced on the eve of the World Airline Training Conference and Tradeshow (WATS 2012) that it will open a new training centre in Barcelona, Spain to train commercial aircraft pilots and cabin crew.

The centre will be located at the Barcelona El Prat Airport and will be ready for training by mid-2012.

CAE currently offers training services at 35 locations worldwide for operators of commercial aircraft, business aircraft and civil helicopters.

CAE also announced that it has signed a seven-year agreement with Vueling Airlines as the anchor customer for the CAE Barcelona training centre. Vueling Airbus A320 pilots and cabin crew will train at the new facility. Training will also be available to other A320 operators.

The training centre is located in Parc de Negocis Mas Blau II, and is close to Vueling headquarters. CAE Barcelona will initially feature one A320 full-flight simulator, built and owned by CAE. The facility will be expandable to four simulator bays.

This will be CAE's third training location in Spain and ninth in Europe. CAE Madrid has trained pilots and maintenance personnel for Vueling, Iberia and other airlines since 2002. It also initiated cabin crew training last year. CAE offers Boeing 737NG simulator training capability at the Air Europa Training Centre in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. CAE is the largest provider of commercial aviation training in Europe with locations in Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Barcelona, Spain; Brussels, Belgium; London / Burgess Hill, United Kingdom; Madrid, Spain; Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Paris, France; Prague, Czechoslovakia and Rome, Italy. The company also operates CAE Global Academy ab initio flight schools in Amsterdam, Brussels, and Evora, Portugal.
