"We are extremely excited to finalize this new partnership, our third majority aboriginal-owned joint-venture in the North to date," said Andy Young, Discovery Mining Services President. "Given the level of exploration activity slated to occur on Baffin Island in the coming years, this partnership is strategically located and gives us a physical presence in the Eastern Arctic."

Located in Iqaluit, which serves as the transportation and logistics hub for Baffin Island and the High Arctic, Logistics & Expediting Baffin operates under the leadership of President and General Manager Lynda Gunn.

"Especially when you factor in Nunavut's growing economic importance, specifically in the areas of mineral exploration, creation of mines, increased scientific and federal government-related sovereignty activity, I'm excited about what the future holds for our partnership," said Gunn. "Working with a proven logistics and expediting industry leader such as Discovery Mining Services will be a terrific opportunity for me – in addition to learning from their experts, this new company benefits from the leveraging of their many contacts and their assistance with the investment of capital required will allow our company to grow much faster than I could have done otherwise."

Headquartered in Yellowknife, Discovery Mining Services designs and constructs exploration camps and provides equipment rentals, logistics and expediting support in remote locations across Canada. It also maintains a satellite office and warehouse facility in Thunder Bay to support companies active in Northern Ontario's "Ring of Fire."
